Benefits and Programs
Goldberg Kohn is pleased to offer a comprehensive benefits program to staff members. The benefits program contains a variety of plans intended to enhance the employees' lives and the lives of their family members now and in the future. Several of the benefits offered include:
- Medical insurance through Blue Cross and Blue Shield. There are three plans available: PPO, high deductible PPO and HMO. The firm subsidizes a large portion of the premium and the employee's portion can be deducted on a pre-tax basis under our cafeteria plan.
- Dental insurance through Delta Dental. The firm offers a very rich plan with a maximum annual benefit of $2500 and any remaining amount can be carried over into the next benefit year.
- Vision insurance through EyeMed. The plan offers coverage for both doctors and retail outlets.
- Life, Short-term and Long-term disability insurance. Once eligible, these plans offer financial assistance in the unfortunate event of loss of life or a non-work related illness or injury.
- Wellness Week and Flu Shots are offered in May and October respectively. During Wellness week Goldberg Kohn offers several educational programs, blood screenings, outdoor activities and other fun events to motivate everyone to focus on health and well-being.
- Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) helps maintain and promote the well-being of employees both in the workplace and in their personal lives.

- If you have to work late during the week or on the weekends, the firm offers overtime meal and transportation reimbursement.
- The Cultural Crossroads Committee is made up of staff members and their responsibility is to work with the Diversity Committee to bring educational and enlightening programs to the firm about different cultures, religions and backgrounds. These lunch programs have been very successful and some of the recent programs include Chinese New Year, Juneteenth, Buddhism and Jewish holidays.
- Goldberg Kohn is a very "green" firm, with many programs to support sustainability. The firm started a Project Green Committee in 2007 and this group of attorneys and staff have worked hard to make the firm as eco-friendly as possible.
- Initial orientation and training for staff lasts two to three days, depending on assignment. The first morning is spent filling out the necessary paperwork and touring the firm, followed by a welcome lunch. Upon return in the afternoon, employees begin their computer training. The firm's trainer spends the next day or two with new employees and schedules follow up appointments to check in on your comfort level with all of the Goldberg Kohn computer systems.
