Principals Jeremy Downs and David Dranoff Speak at CFA Auto Industry Forum

Jeremy M. Downs, principal in the firm's Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Group, moderated and David L. Dranoff, Chair of the firm's Commercial Finance Group, spoke at the Commercial Finance Association Midwest Chapter's Auto Industry Forum entitled, "Is There a Pot o' Gold at the End of the Rainbow?" held on March 11, 2010 in Chicago.

The evening included St. Patty’s Day specialties and a panel discussion on lending to the automotive supply industry. In addition to Mr. Downs and Mr. Dranoff, panelists included Paul Melville, Principal, Restructuring & Turnarounds, Grant Thornton LLP and John M. Stewart, SVP & Regional Manager, Wells Fargo Capital Finance.

The panel discussed whether there is money ("pot o' gold") to be made in the auto supply lending market - now, soon, never.  There are literally hundreds of companies in the Midwest region that qualify as "auto," and they have been largely dry of new money for a long time.
