Associate Mary Anderson Selected for Leadership Greater Chicago Fellows Program June 28, 2007 Mary Anderson, an associate at the law firm Goldberg Kohn, has been appointed by Leadership Greater Chicago as a member of the 2008 Leadership Fellows Class, a group whose diverse members represent some of the most actively engaged volunteer leaders in the Chicago area. Ms. Anderson is one of 35 fellows selected from this year’s competitive pool of nominees. "We are proud that Mary follows two previous Goldberg Kohn attorneys as participants in the exemplary Leadership Greater Chicago Program,” said Terry Moritz, the head of the litigation group at Goldberg Kohn. “Mary is a perfect fit for the program because of her passion for social justice and her drive to help better her community. She has demonstrated the same outstanding leadership qualities as her predecessors and I know that she will benefit as greatly from her experience in the program as did they." Ms. Anderson was selected for the year-long Fellows Program because of her strong leadership abilities and dedication to her career and her community. Through the program, she will meet with community leaders throughout Chicago to obtain an understanding of the city’s challenges and resources in such areas as housing, crime, education and healthcare. The Fellows Program helps participants form a vision of how they want to direct their own community outreach efforts and gives them the resources and information to make significant personal contributions. A Chicago resident, Ms. Anderson is a member of the Board of Directors of the Center on Halsted, a gay and lesbian community center in the Lake View neighborhood, and is president and a member of the Board for the Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice, a research and advocacy organization focused on issues of social justice. She is also a past president and board member of the Lesbian and Gay Bar Association of Chicago. |
