Principal Matthew Zapf Elected to the Chicago Bar Foundation's Board of Directors

August 15, 2007

Matthew A.C. Zapf, a principal at the law firm Goldberg Kohn, was elected to the Board of Director’s of the Chicago Bar Foundation (CBF), at the organization’s annual meeting.  The CBF is the charitable arm of the Chicago Bar Association (CBA) and works to ensure equal access to justice for all Chicago residents.

"The Chicago Bar Foundation is privileged to have a leader like Matt helping to continue our important work for legal aid," said CBF Executive Director, Bob Glaves. "We commend his longtime support of the CBF and its important mission."

Mr. Zapf also serves on the CBF’s Grant’s Committee and served as a Vice-Chair of the inaugural CBF “Investing in Justice” campaign.  As a leader of this campaign, Mr. Zapf helped to raise contributions from lawyers and law firms throughout the city to support the legal aid system in Chicago.

In addition to serving as a CBF board member, Mr. Zapf has served on the Board of Director’s of the Illinois Association of Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization that facilitates the training and administration of volunteers to represent children’s interests during court proceedings involving abuse and neglect.  He is also an adjunct professor at Northwestern University School of Law, where he teaches trial advocacy.
