Goldberg Kohn Attracts New Litigation Principal

CHICAGOThe law firm of Goldberg, Kohn, Bell, Black, Rosenbloom & Moritz, Ltd. recently announced that litigation attorney Matthew A.C. Zapf has joined its Litigation Group and will head up the firm's Product Liability practice area. Mr. Zapf, formerly a partner and head of the Litigation Department at McGuireWoods LLP in Chicago, recently joined the firm as a principal. Prior to his tenure at McGuireWoods, he was chief litigation counsel for Caterpillar, Inc.

Mr. Zapf has extensive litigation experience in the United States and abroad. His practice involves representing clients in a wide range of products liability, toxic tort, complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. He also counsels clients on alternative dispute resolution and litigation management.

Throughout the United States and Europe, Mr. Zapf frequently lectures on various issues ranging from litigation prevention programs to total quality management. Mr. Zapf has also been published on arbitration topics, such as: "Waiver of the Right to Arbitrate" and "Judicial Review of Arbitration Awards — Vacature," both published in the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education.

Mr. Zapf received his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law in Chicago, where he was Note and Comment Editor for the Northwestern University Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology. Mr. Zapf graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and was a Rhodes Scholar candidate. Mr. Zapf is admitted to practice in the state of Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. He is a member of the Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois and the Chicago Bar Association.
