Principal Jim Rosenbloom Speaks at PLI Commercial Real Estate Financing Seminar

Jim Rosenbloom, principal in the firm's Real Estate Group, spoke at the Practising Law Institute's seminar "Commercial Real Estate Financing 2009: How the World Changed" held on March 26-27 in Chicago.
The seminar covered such important topics as:
- Strategies for selling a loan, and how the process changes when a loan encounters distress or default
- What a borrower should do when a loan is heading toward trouble
- Now that LLCs have been the vehicle of choice for over a decade, what we can learn from reported cases
- Islamic financing — and the deal structures and documents you need to know about

- How construction loans go wrong
- Special problems and issues of syndicated loans
Mr. Rosenbloom spoke during a session entitled, "Borrower Negotiations in the Face of Default," where he discussed strategies to deal with lenders and other investors when a property gets into trouble.
