Michael Sullivan, principal and chair of the Labor and Employment Group at Goldberg Kohn, is speaking at the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) Meeting on Thursday Nov. 15, 2012, in Chicago.

Michael's co-presenter will be Alex Caffarelli, principal at Caffarelli & Siegel Ltd. They will discuss recent high-profile lawsuits and legislative initiatives concerning whether interns are, or should be, employees for wage-hour purposes, as well as whether certain types of service providers who are classified as “independent contractors” are actually employees. Both of these issues have broad implications for workplace staffing and compensation.

Anyone involved in human resources or labor relations (e.g., attorneys, union representatives, human resources professionals), or anyone simply interested in greater insight into these issues, should consider attending. Lunch will be served.
