Jami Brodey is a principal in the firm's Real Estate Group. She represents lenders in connection with transactions, including mezzanine and equity financing, to acquire commercial and industrial properties. She represents landlords in negotiating and drafting commercial leases and has experience with sale-leaseback transactions. She has also represented owners in acquiring apartment complexes.
Ms. Brodey authored "The Supreme Court Rejects Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment Protection Against the Forfeiture of an Innocent Owner's Property: Bennis v. Michigan," Northwestern University Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology (1998). Prior to pursuing a legal career, she was a tax accountant for two years in the real estate practice of a major accounting firm.
