Commercial Finance Legal Secretary

Goldberg Kohn seeks an experienced legal secretary with commercial finance experience to support multiple attorneys in our commercial finance group. Responsibilities include preparing, formatting revising documents, assisting in the preparation and distribution of closing sets, file maintenance, administrative support including coordinating travel, managing attorneys' calendars, billing, and expenses, and backup support to the secretarial team.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of legal secretarial experience
  • Transactional legal experience preferably in commercial finance
  • Familiarity with commercial finance loan terminology and types of loans
  • Excellent grammar, typing and proofreading skills
  • An excellent eye for detail
  • Experience managing a desk of three or more attorneys
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Self-starter

Finance Paralegal

Goldberg Kohn seeks a Finance Paralegal to support our nationally-recognized Commercial Finance Practice Group.  Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting UCCs, Intellectual Property security agreements and various releases.
  • Ordering, reviewing, and charting lien searches.
  • Performing Intellectual Property searches and chart results.
  • Assisting with due diligence.
  • Tracking and obtaining post-close items

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program is preferred.

Because this position focuses on closing transactions, the successful candidate will have schedule flexibility with regards to overtime as necessary. Candidate needs to be self-motivated, organized, dependable, and able to work well independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

Knowledge Management Analyst

Goldberg Kohn's Commercial Finance and Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights practice groups are seeking a Knowledge Management Analyst to provide proactive leadership and serve as a trusted and reliable source of legal, technical, market and practical expertise. The Knowledge Management Analyst will be responsible for driving the implementation of Goldberg Kohn's knowledge strategy, including legal knowledge management, legal process improvement, substantive and KM technology training, and implementation of KM-related technologies. Substantive knowledge of commercial finance, bankruptcy and creditors’ rights transactions and terminology will be essential for this role.

We prefer a law degree or MBA with 5+ years of experience in the areas of finance and creditors' rights. Experience in content management and portal technologies, information architecture, law firm accounting systems, knowledge management, defining taxonomies, metadata tagging and search tools and interfaces is preferred.  We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, a collegial and professional environment, intellectually challenging work, and the opportunity to work with wonderful people.
