Human Resources Generalist

Job Description, Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Goldberg Kohn is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to perform various day-to-day HR activities and undertake a wide range of human resources tasks including, but not limited to new hire orientation, employee benefits administration, leaves of absence, employment verification and recruiting support:

  • Serves as point-of-contact for all employees regarding HR policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
  • Supports employees through STD, LTD, FMLA and military leave processes.
  • At the direction of the HR Manager, responds to employee relations issues and performance concerns. Brings matters to resolution.
  • Enhances job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly.
  • Supports recruitment of qualified job applicants for open positions.
  • Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Coordinates conflict checks processes.
  • Conducts employee onboarding and facilitates new hire orientation.
  • Process and enters timely and accurate confidential employee information and changes in ADP, including new hires, terminations, promotions, salary changes, etc.
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data and makes recommendations to HR manager for corrective action.
  • Analyzes HR reporting results and provides feedback to HR management.
  • Maintains job descriptions for all Goldberg Kohn positions.
  • Assists in the implementation of human resource policies.
  • Coordinates performance evaluation processes.
  • Reviews, tracks and documents compliance training.
  • Identifies, suggests, documents and implements ongoing process improvements.
  • Processes invoices.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the human resources field.
  • Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Must be able to maintain an exemplary degree of professionalism in all situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and independent judgment with the ability to display compassion and diplomacy.
  • Detail-oriented approach to gathering and maintaining information and data, with the ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Results-driven with demonstrated critical and creative thinking skills. Time management and project management skills required.
  • Proven ability to plan, organize, multi-task, and set priorities effectively and efficiently to proactively respond to changing demands, from multiple sources.
  • Ability to work in a change-filled environment and manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions. Ability to execute directives with accuracy and consistency.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
  • 2-4 years human resources experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook)

Transactional Finance Paralegal

Job Description:

We are seeking a Transactional Finance Paralegal with 3 to 5 years of experience to support our nationally-recognized Commercial Finance Practice Group.
Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting UCCs, Intellectual Property security agreements and various releases.
  • Ordering, reviewing, and charting lien searches.
  • Performing Intellectual Property searches and chart results.
  • Drafting and reviewing basic ancillary loan documents such as Secretary Certificates, Payoff Letters, etc.
  • Assisting with due diligence.
  • Coordinating the closing process, including sending and gathering signature pages and tracking closing deliveries.
  • Tracking and obtaining post-close items
  • Because this position focuses on closing transactions, the successful candidate will have schedule flexibility with regards to overtime as necessary. Candidate needs to be self-motivated, organized, dependable, and able to work well independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • A certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience within a transactional legal practice is required.
