Business Development Manager

Job Description:

Goldberg Kohn has a great opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our busy Marketing Department. This role will be responsible for the law office’s business development functions and will exercise discretion and independent judgment while working under the general supervision of the Chief Operating Officer and the Business Development Committee.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborates with the Business Development Committee Chair, the Business Development Committee, Practice Group Chairs and other firm leadership to create and implement strategic business development plans that support the firm’s brand and business goals.
  • Assists with planning, and participates in, client business development events (i.e., golf outing, client receptions, etc.).
  • Partners with practice groups and individual attorneys to develop strategic business plans that enhances current client relationships, identifies prospective clients, and increases profits.
  • Manages the client feedback program including recommending clients, interviewing clients with relationship partner, and presenting a summary report to the partners.
  • Facilitates the firm’s RFP protocol process including soliciting RFPs from desirable prospective clients and writing proposals for new business; participates in planning and presentation sessions as requested.
  • Identifies and makes recommendations for ongoing training and coaching for attorneys.
  • Provides general support to the firm’s marketing activities, including firm collateral material, website, public relations, advertising, sponsorships, speaking and writing opportunities, client alerts, and seminars.
  • Oversees the department staff, including assigning and supervising projects and mentoring and developing staff members' development and growth.

Billing Coordinator

Job Description

Goldberg Kohn is seeking a Billing Coordinator to join our Finance team. Following established policies and procedures, this role would perform a variety of time and billing duties, which may consist of client billing (including e-billing), month-end closing and matter intake/conflicts. The Billing Coordinator would also maintain contact with attorneys, staff and clients as required, as well as observe confidentiality in all client and firm matters.

Required knowledge, skills and ability include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Finance, or other related field with a financial focus. Or any equivalent combination of training, education and experience with a focus on billing that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.

  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience in a professional services industry.

  • Experience with various e-billing platforms and the management of billing rates.
