David Chizewer, a Principal in the firm’s Litigation Group, is quoted in the Chicago Sun-Times article, "Judge To Rule Next Month on Bid to Stop General Iron Permit," published March 8, 2021.
The article concerns a push to block the move of the General Iron scrap metal facility owned by Reserve Management Group to a new location on Chicago's South Side. U.S. District Judge Mary Rowland recently heard arguments in a dispute over the move, which cited concerns over pollution and donations from the facility’s operator made to city officials.
Mr. Chizewer, who represents RMG, is quoted as saying, “The city had absolutely nothing to do with the location.”
Despite opposition, the move of General Iron is underway, and the judge urged counsel to address the city’s assertion that it’s up to the Chicago Department of Public Health to review the company’s final permit to authorize the move.
