Uniform Commercial Code Law Journal

Richard M. Kohn, a principal in the firm's Commercial Finance Group, has co-authored "Facilitating a Cost-Free Path to Economic Recovery – Implementing a Global Uniform International Receivables Financing Law," published in the July 2012 issue of the Uniform Commercial Code Law Journal.

The article provides an overview of the United Nations Convention on the Assignment of Receivables in International Trade (2001) and discusses how it effectively addresses impediments to receivables financing that currently exist under the laws of many countries. The article also makes the case that ratification of the Convention by the United States would be a cost-free way to create U.S. jobs.

The article was co-authored by Spiros V. Bazinas (Senior Legal Officer, International Trade Law Division (UNCITRAL Secretariat), Office of Legal Affairs of the United Nations) and Louis F. Del Duca (Director, Institute of Commercial Law, and Professor of Law at The Penn State Dickenson School of Law).
