On Friday, June 4, 2010, a group of female attorneys from Goldberg Kohn volunteered for the Women Everywhere Service Day for the second year in a row. Through Women Everywhere, Goldberg Kohn was paired with Hephzibah Children's Association in Oak Park, a safe house that works to enhance the lives of children and families through a continuum of innovative programs. The attorneys spent the day running a game room at Hephzibah's Rodeo Jamboree.
"We were fortunate enough to learn more about Hephzibah from several of the people that work there, and it's truly an amazing place and they are an inspiring group. That said, without a doubt the best part was the opportunity to interact directly with the incredible kids that attended the rodeo! We again had a great time helping a great organization, and I definitely look forward to next year's Women Everywhere Service Day adventure," said Vanessa Bachtell, principal in the firm's Corporate Securities & Tax Group.
Women Everywhere is a collaborative effort of nine women's Bar groups, working together to plan and coordinate volunteer activities on behalf of high school girls as well as women and children in need. Through WE, several hundred volunteers, including federal and state judges, attorneys, and friends of the legal community have donated time to the Educational Program and the Community Service Day.
