On August 12, 2020, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals denied the Trump Administration's petition for rehearing Cook County v. Wolf en banc of its June 10, 2020 opinion affirming the District Court's entry of a preliminary injunction in favor of Cook County in the public charge litigation. The government has until November 18, 2020, to file a petition for a writ of certiorari before the United States Supreme Court.
Previous posts have discussed the "public charge rule" that the firm is challenging on behalf of Cook County in the case.
