Goldberg Kohn was honored to be awarded with The Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice's Pro Bono Appreciation Award at its annual Pillars of Justice Awards reception on April 6, 2017.

Goldberg Kohn was recognized for our work in assisting Chicago Appleseed and its partners achieve a change in Illinois Supreme Court Rules prohibiting shackling of juvenile defendants during court proceedings absent demonstrated cause, and promoting the independence of administrative hearing officers. Roger Lewis, a Principal in the firm's Litigation Group, accepted the award on behalf of the firm. 

Chicago Appleseed is a social impact research and advocacy organization that identifies community injustices, conducts research necessary to develop proposed solutions and advocates for their implementation. Chicago Appleseed is an affiliate of the Appleseed National Network of Social Justice Centers.
