Goldberg Kohn's new diversity mentoring program, branded GK Advocates, is featured in "Firm Starts New Training Program Aimed at Improving Diversity Goal," published in the Nov. 20, 2019, edition of the <em>Chicago Daily Law Bulletin</em>. GK Advocates is aimed at recruiting, keeping and promoting a more diverse staff.

The firm’s existing diversity efforts were more of a mentorship program with “good bones,” but the new policy, which launched at the beginning of the month, “took it to another level.”

Goldberg Kohn partnered with Diversity Lab to offer the nonprofit organization’s OnTrack professional development program to GK Advocates participants. The partnership was natural and the OnTrack program fit perfectly with the goals of GK Advocates. The flexibility of the program gives the seven current participants freedom to have varying goals. It was important to have a program that was structured but had flexibility to accommodate the entrepreneurial culture of the firm and then also the attorneys that it attracts.

GK Advocates participants will receive career- and business-development training and support as they continue their client work.
