In February 2015 Goldberg Kohn attorneys and paralegals provided pro bono services to clients of the National Immigrant Justice Center (NIJC) at a firm-hosted clinic and in follow-up work thereafter. Attorneys from Abbott Laboratories joined us at the clinic and assisted in representing the clients.

The firm will host another clinic with the National Immigrant Justice Center on February 23, 2016.

Highlights of our outstanding pro bono work for NIJC in 2015 included:

  • Paralegal Nancy Brougher assisted in obtaining temporary protection under DACA for three young immigrants from Mexico in collaboration with Suresh Pillai of Abbott.
  • Principal David Mason and Paralegal Nancy Brougher obtained temporary protection under DACA for two young immigrants from Mexico and India in collaboration with Irene Reininger of Abbott.
  • Roger Lewis obtained temporary protection under DACA for two young immigrants from Romania and Mexico in collaboration with Arul Jothi Arun of Abbott Laboratories.
  • Goldberg Kohn obtained temporary protection under DACA for two young immigrants from Mexico in collaboration with Elisa Valenzona of Abbott Laboratories.
  • Stephen Legatzke obtained temporary protection under DACA for a young immigrant from Mexico.
  • The firm obtained temporary protection under DACA for two young immigrants from Mexico.
