Goldberg Kohn Honored with Pro Bono Appreciation Award
The Chicago Appleseed Fund for Justice hosted its annual Pillars of Justice Awards Reception on April 6, and Goldberg Kohn was honored to be awarded with Chicago Appleseed's Pro Bono Appreciation Award. The firm was recognized for its work in assisting Chicago Appleseed and its partners achieve a change in Illinois Supreme Court Rules prohibiting shackling of juvenile defendants during court proceedings absent demonstrated cause, and promoting the independence of administrative hearing officers. Roger Lewis, a Principal in the firm's Litigation Group, accepted the award on behalf of the firm.
Chicago Appleseed is a social impact research and advocacy organization that identifies community injustices, conducts research necessary to develop proposed solutions and advocates for their implementation.
