Danielle Johnson Quoted Regarding Trademark Case

Danielle Johnson, an associate in the firm's Intellectual Property group, was quoted recently in several Intellectual Property legal trade publications regarding the case of Iancu v. Brunetti. The Supreme Court recently heard arguments over whether it should permit the registration of "scandalous" or profane trademarks, a move which many say is unconstitutional. According to reports, the Justices’ line of questioning indicated they are likely to follow their own lead in Matal v. Tam, which struck down the related "disparagement" clause of the Lanham Act as unconstitutional viewpoint discrimination.
