Goldberg Kohn to be honored for pro bono partnership with McDonald's
Pro Bono Institute recognizing firm's work on asylum cases with longtime client
Goldberg Kohn is being honored by the Pro Bono Institute along with Jenner & Block and the National Immigrant Justice Center with one of two 2021 CPBO Pro Bono Partner Awards recognizing our partnership with McDonald's.
For the last five years, GK has been partnering with McDonald's in-house attorneys to help represent asylum applicants obtain legal status in the United States. We have had approximately 10 Goldberg Kohn and McDonald's pairings providing critical legal assistance to as many asylum applicants, with the assistance and oversight of the National Immigration Justice Center.
GK partner David Morrison said "The real heroes are the clients who have put their lives on the line to leave impossible situations in their home countries, fleeing to America, either alone or with family, trying to make a new life while following the American Dream. We are so proud of the corporate partnership with McDonald's and all of the good we have done working together on this powerful pro bono program."
The award will be presented at the institute's 2021 Annual Awards Gala on Thursday, October 14th. The event also marks the Pro Bono Institute's 25th anniversary.
