Stacey Petrek Joins Goldberg Kohn as an Associate in the Litigation Group
Stacey Petrek has joined Goldberg Kohn as an Associate in the firm's Litigation Group. She represents clients in complex commercial matters at both the state and federal level.
She is experienced in handling a wide range of matters, including insurance coverage disputes, breach of contract actions, business tort claims, trade secret cases, class action defense, and white collar crime and government investigations. She also has experience with mediation.
Ms. Petrek earned her J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 2017. While there, she was a research assistant for Prof. Martha C. Nussbaum and served as a student volunteer at the Edwin F. Mandel Legal Aid Clinic. In addition, she participated in the University of Chicago Law School’s 2016 "Money in Law and Literature Conference.
Ms. Petrek received her B.A. in Comparative Cultures in Literature and English from Brown University in 2006, and a MFA in Creative Writing from Syracuse University in 2012. She was a teaching fellow at Syracuse University and the recipient of a Fulbright Award Grant.
Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn, Ms. Petrek practiced as a litigation associate at a preeminent insurance coverage firm as well as with a global law firm where she handled breach of contract actions, business torts, insurance coverage disputes, intellectual property, trade secret, copyright and trademark infringement cases, class action defense, product liability cases, and white collar criminal and governmental investigations.
From September 2019 to August 2020, Ms. Petrek was a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Raymond W. Mitchell of the Circuit Court of Cook County’s Chancery Division.
