
Sean Apfelbaum is an Associate in the firm’s Commercial Finance Group. He represents banks and other financial institutions in a wide range of asset-based and cash-flow loans, secured and unsecured lending transactions, and first and second lien facilities across a broad array of industries.
He has been named by Best Lawyers to its Ones to Watch in America list (2023 Edition). Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn in January 2021, Mr. Apfelbaum worked at two international law firms where he represented clients of all sizes in asset-based and cash-flow secured and unsecured lending transactions.
He received his J.D., cum laude, from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law in 2015, and earned his B.A. in Human Biology from Indiana University Bloomington in 2010. While in law school, he was an intern and law clerk at the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation's Medical Prosecutions Unit.
Before pursuing his legal career, Mr. Apfelbaum worked full-time as a research technician at the University of Chicago’s Psychomotor Laboratory.
