Overview

Maya Foster is an Associate in the firm’s Commercial Finance Group. She represents banks, finance companies and other financial institutions in structuring, documenting and negotiating a broad range of complex commercial finance transactions.

Maya has experience representing financial institutions in syndicated and single-lender senior cash-flow and asset-based secured loan transactions and junior capital providers in second lien, unsecured mezzanine and unitranche transactions in connection with acquisition and working capital financings, split lien credit facilities, refinancings and recapitalizations, debtor-in-possession financings, restructurings, workouts and other bankruptcy related matters.

Maya is recognized in "The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch (2024 Edition)."

She joined Goldberg Kohn in October 2020. She is a member of the firm's Diversity and Technology committees. Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn, she practiced in the Chicago office of a global law firm and in the Atlanta office of an Am Law 200 firm.

  • Represented administrative agent in connection with $986 million senior secured credit facilities to provide financing for a rapidly growing national healthcare platform.
  • Represented administrative agent in connection with $400 million asset-based revolving loan facility to affiliated borrowers located in the United States, Wales and England, the Netherlands and Finland, with collateral in the United States, Wales and England, the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Brazil, Romania, Columbia and the U.A.E. to a beverage packaging manufacturer.
  • Represented administrative agent and revolving lender in connection with a $100 million asset-based revolving loan facility to affiliated U.S. and Canadian borrowers as part of a split-lien financing totaling $375 million to a North American restaurant brand.
  • Represented administrative agent in connection with $83 million senior secured credit facilities to finance the acquisition of a growing manufacturer of personal and beauty products.
  • Represented administrative agent in connection with $162.5 million senior secured credit facilities to finance the acquisition of a national communications firm and subsequent add-on acquisitions.
  • Represented unsecured mezzanine lender in connection with $14.3 million term loan facility for a performance polymer manufacturer.
  • Represented administrative agent and asset-based lender in connection with a $200 million debtor-in-possession revolving credit facility for a leading raw materials producer.
