On February 11, 2026, Litigation Principal and former federal prosecutor Chip Mulaney will present “Artificial Intelligence in Fraud Cases: Tools for Committing Fraud, and Fighting It” before the Illinois Fraud Working Group.
Chip’s presentation will cover:
- How artificial intelligence works; how it can be used to commit fraud; and how it can be used to investigate fraud and bring cases successfully to trial.
- Cutting edge legal issues:
- Search and seizure of AI assistants and
- The use of AI monitoring to fraudsters on supervised release
He will present in person from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 230 S. LaSalle Street, Chicago, IL 60604. The presentation, closed to law enforcement only, will also be available virtually via WebEx.

The Illinois Fraud Working Group is co-chaired by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, the Office of Inspector General for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and the Office of Inspector General for the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
