David E. Morrison, a principal in the firm's Labor & Employment group, is quoted in "Court Ruling Limits ADEA Protections to Employees, Not Job Applicants," published in the February 2019 edition of World At Work.
"Companies could have faced an uptick in lawsuits had the ruling gone the other way."
The article concerns a recent Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruling that restricted the scope of the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), limiting the application of the law to employees only, not job candidates.
Mr. Morrison discussed several facets of the ruling, including how it will affect employers. "This is an employer friendly decision," he said, "companies could have faced an uptick in lawsuits had the ruling gone the other way."
