David E. Morrison, a Principal in the firm's Litigation and Labor & Employment groups, is quoted in "Harassment By Emojis," an article published in the Jan. 8, 2018, edition of Workforce Magazine. The article concerns the increasing prevalence of emoji use in the workplace and the challenges their use may present in preventing workplace sexual harassment.

David says emojis themselves are not necessarily disruptive in the workplace, however inappropriate behavior is. Though the message may contain cartoon faces, the behavior is still harassment. "I think these are all subsets of the same policies companies have had in place for years," said David.
