Litigation Principal and Former Assistant U.S. Attorney Chip Mulaney, who joined Goldberg Kohn in December, is featured in “Chicago Firm Taps Ex-Prosecutor for White Collar Practice,” published in the Dec. 23, 2025, edition of Law360.
Chip, who has worked as a federal prosecutor in Illinois and Georgia, will lead and build a new white-collar defense and investigations practice, as well as handle commercial litigation and whistleblower-focused false claims suits.
Chip told Law360 that he had been eyeing midsize firms for his professional transition and considered Goldberg Kohn's low lateral-hire count a big draw as he considered the best fit for building his practice.
"[At] most firms, people are kind of jumping ship left and right, and there's a lot of loyalty and trust inside Goldberg Kohn that leads people to stay there," Chip says in the article. "That alone was a huge data point in terms of picking the firm.
"I'm really happy with where I landed," he added.
