Richard Kohn, principal in the firm's Commercial Finance Group, and Jonathan Helfat, partner at Otterbourg, Steindler, Houston & Rosen P.C. in New York, presented their Report of General Counsel at the Commercial Finance Association's Annual Convention in Chicago on October 22. Messrs. Kohn and Helfat summarized the judicial and legislative developments affecting the asset based lending and factoring industries during 2010.
Mr. Kohn has served as General Co-Counsel of the Commercial Finance Association with Mr. Helfat since January 2002. He was selected by Chambers Global 2010 as one of forty-three Notable Practitioners in the United States in the category of Banking & Finance. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Attorneys, and for the past ten years has been active on various projects for the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) in the area of international secured transactions. Mr. Kohn practices extensively in the field of cross-border asset-based lending, and is a frequent author and lecturer on the subject.
