Michael Sullivan Speaks at the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) Meeting in Chicago

November 15, 2012

Michael Sullivan, principal and chair of the Labor and Employment Group at Goldberg Kohn, and Alex Caffarelli, principal at Caffarelli & Siegel Ltd., spoke at the Labor and Employment Relations Association (LERA) Meeting on Thursday Nov. 15, 2012 in Chicago.

There have been a number of high-profile lawsuits and legislative initiatives recently as to whether interns are or should be employees for wage-hour purposes, as well as whether certain types of service provides classified as “independent contractors” actually are employees. This has broad implications for workplace staffing and compensation.

LERA will host the presentation and Q&A on this important topic. Anyone involved in human resources or labor relations (e.g., attorneys, union representatives, human resources professionals), or anyone simply interested in greater insight into these issues, should consider attending. Lunch will be served.
