David Morrison Participates in Trade Secrets Panel for Meritas
"Ins and Outs of Trade Secrets and Non-Competes"
On October 28th, David Morrison, a principal in Goldberg Kohn's Litigation and Labor & Employment groups participated in a panel for Meritas entitled "Ins and Outs of Trade Secrets and Non-Competes" along with Laura Hallmon from Cantey Hanger and Tyler Paetkau from Procopio, Cory, Hargreaves & Savitch.
The presentation discussed current topics in trade secret litigation including the new popularity of trade secrets, examples of trade secrets the Uniform Trade Secrets Act and the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 and the differences between the two. The panel touched on DTSA seizure cases and discussed reasonable versus non-reasonable measures for seizure. The presentation also included topics on onboarding and exiting high value employees, tips for trade secret owners, trade secret trends and litigation considerations.
