Goldberg Kohn is thrilled to announce that Laura Jakubowski has rejoined Goldberg Kohn to serve as our firm's first Knowledge Management Attorney. Laura, who previously was an associate with the firm, joins from JPMorgan Chase Bank (JPMC) where she was an Assistant General Counsel and Vice President covering Digital, Data Use and Privacy for Commercial Banking.
Goldberg Kohn's combined 50-plus attorney Commercial Finance and Bankruptcy groups have long been a strong presence in the middle- and lower-middle market commercial finance space. With their breadth of expertise and institutional stability, the firm's practices serve a broad set of national and regional finance clients; in many cases representing decades of professional engagement.
Firm attorneys have always strived to be attuned to market developments, and they are regularly called upon to provide clients with policy and transactional guidance informed by ever-evolving market conditions. To further enhance the firm's resources, Goldberg Kohn is investing significantly in information technologies and data collection and analysis – all with the goal of providing our clients with objective market intelligence that is generally available only in public markets.
As a critical component of this program, Laura will be responsible for leading Goldberg Kohn's knowledge strategy and providing legal, technical, market and practical expertise for our Commercial Finance and Bankruptcy practices. She will help develop and implement proprietary databases that will fuel our middle-market intelligence, drive the adoption and implementation of leading commercial technologies to foster legal process improvement, and develop Knowledge Management technology training to enhance the efficiency of our entire team.
Mike Hainen, chair of the Commercial Finance group, said, "We are very excited about our new tech initiatives. The people running these new tools make all the difference, and we are thrilled that Laura agreed to return to Goldberg Kohn as our first Knowledge Management Attorney to lead these initiatives."
Laura is very familiar with Goldberg Kohn's clients and their needs. From 2010 to 2014 she was an associate with our Commercial Finance team, advising banks and other financial institutions on transaction structures for asset based and cash flow secured lending transactions. Since mid-2014 she has been with JPMC, first working as Assistant General Counsel and VP for Middle Market Banking, and then later taking on the Digital, Data Use and Privacy role.
"I am thrilled to return to Goldberg Kohn in this new and exciting role," said Laura. "I will bring to the firm the commercial lending legal expertise and data skills I've developed over the course of my career. Goldberg Kohn has such a strong foundation in middle-market lending, and I am excited to use my experience and resources to ensure the firm's ongoing success."
