Miguel Castro Morales and Marques Winick have joined Goldberg Kohn as Associates in the Commercial Finance practice group.

Miguel Castro Morales assists institutional lenders in negotiating, documenting, performing due diligence on, and closing financing transactions. Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn, he practiced in the Tax Department at the global law firm of Baker McKenzie, where he received the 2018 Diversity Fellowship Award. Mr. Morales earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2019. While in law school, he worked as a student-attorney in the Low Income Taxpayers Clinic, the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic and the Child Welfare Appellate Clinic. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University in 2015. Prior to pursuing his law degree, Mr. Morales owned and managed a tax preparation services business where he assisted individual and corporate clients in the preparation of their federal and state tax filings.

Marques Winick (Commercial Finance) represents banks and other financial institutions in a wide range of asset-based and cash-flow loans, secured and unsecured lending transactions, and first and second lien facilities across a broad range of industries. Prior to joining Goldberg Kohn, Mr. Winick practiced in the Chicago office of an international law firm, where he represented banks, private equity firms and other financial institutions in asset-based and cash-flow secured and unsecured lending transactions, as well as in middle-market mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Winick graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2019. While in law school, he was the Managing Editor of the Michigan Business & Entrepreneurial Law Review, the President of the Sports Law Society, and a mentor and senior judge for students in the first-year Legal Practice program. He also served as a Legal Intern for the United States Tennis Association in Orlando, and as a Law Clerk for the University of Michigan's Office of the Vice President & General Counsel.  Mr. Winick earned his B.A. in English, summa cum laude with Honors, with minors in Business Management and Spanish, from Case Western Reserve University in 2016.
