
Miguel Castro Morales is an Associate in the firm's Commercial Finance Group. He represents banks and other financial institutions primarily engaged in middle-market lending activities in documenting, negotiating and performing due diligence for asset-based and cash-flow commercial finance transactions.
Mr. Morales joined Goldberg Kohn in December 2021. He previously practiced in the Tax Department at the global law firm of Baker McKenzie, where he received the 2018 Diversity Fellowship Award. He also co-authored "CARES Act Tax Provisions Impacting the Real Estate Industry" and "United States: Rev. Proc. 2020-34 – Relief for DSTs Amid the COVID-19 Pandemic."
Mr. Morales earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School in 2019. While in law school, he worked as a student-attorney in the Low Income Taxpayers Clinic, the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic and the Child Welfare Appellate Clinic. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from DePaul University in 2015.
Prior to pursuing his law degree, Mr. Morales owned and managed a tax preparation services business where he assisted individual and corporate clients in the preparation of their federal and state tax filings.
