Goldberg Kohn was honored with The Shriver Center on Poverty Law's Corporate Partner Award at its 50th Anniversary Gala on October 19, 2017.

Goldberg Kohn has been involved in landmark collaborations with the Shriver Center, including the current joint representation of public housing and low-income residents living on environmentally contaminated land in East Chicago, Indiana.

Inspired by the late Fred Cohen, Goldberg Kohn's cherished partner who worked tirelessly with the Shriver Center to make access to health care a reality for Illinois children living in poverty, Goldberg Kohn attorneys David Chizewer, Bill Meyers, Fred Klein and many others have been instrumental in the pro-bono work done for the Shriver Center over the years.

The Shriver Center's 50th Anniversary Gala celebrated founder Sargent Shriver's legacy and the advancement of the Shriver Center over the past 50 years. The gala featured speeches by Mark Shriver, Toni Preckwinkle, Debbie Chizewer and Barack Obama. Chris Kennedy, Lisa Madigan and many other local luminaries were among the more than 900 attendees.

The Shriver Center's mission is to bring together lawyers, community leaders and allies from across the country as the nation's leading advocate for people living in poverty.
