Overview

Bill Meyers is a Principal in the firm's Litigation Group. Throughout his career, he has handled a variety of complex commercial litigation matters in courts nationwide. He has extensive experience in bankruptcy and insolvency litigation, regularly protecting the rights of secured creditors in these proceedings. He litigates cash collateral/adequate protection disputes, plan confirmation issues, claims objections, valuation disputes, relief from stay motions and receivership actions. 

Bill serves as lead counsel for the defendants in the multidistrict class action litigation captioned In re Monat Hair Care Products Marketing, Sales Practices, and Products Liability Litigation pending in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, defending Monat against alleged deceptive advertising and product liability claims. He also represented settlement class counsel for a class of more than 1,300 insurance companies suing AIG for RICO, common law fraud and breach of contract, obtaining a $450 million class action settlement, despite strenuous objections. 

Bill has also litigated a number of intellectual property disputes, including numerous trademark infringement cases, domain name cyber-squatting disputes and breach of contract actions relating to intellectual property license/franchise agreements. This includes the successful prosecution of a trademark infringement matter on behalf of Guinness World in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
