Overview

Steven Torrez is a Senior Attorney in the firm's Commercial Finance Group.  He represents banks and other financial institutions primarily engaged in middle-market lending activities in documenting, negotiating and performing due diligence for asset-based and cash-flow commercial finance transactions. 

Among his professional activities, in August 2020 Steven participated as a panelist at the Secured Finance Network's YoPro Leadership Summit 2020. His session, "Lending Through COVID," explored the changes in credit and legal due diligence during the pandemic. 

From 2024 to 2026, Steven was recognized as One to Watch in Banking & Finance Law by The Best Lawyers in America®. 

Experience

  • Represented administrative agent in connection with a $200 million asset-based credit facility in support of a steel manufacturer.  
  • Represented administrative agent in providing a $35 million second lien secured credit facility to provide financing in support of an alarm business and such businesses subsequent add-on acquisitions.  
  • Represented administrative agent in connection with a $75 million cash flow based credit facility in support of a coffee company and subsequent add-on acquisitions. 
  • Represented administrative agent in a $150 million asset-based credit facility to support a U.S.-based public company in connection with their growth through significant add-on acquisitions.    
  • Represented administrative agent to provide a $260 million senior secured credit facility to a mobile device company, including the documentation of guaranties and perfection on collateral in Hong Kong, Ireland, United Arab Emirates, Japan and the Dominican Republic.
