Yasamin Kaye is a Senior Attorney in the firm's Bankruptcy &amp; Creditors' Rights Group concentrating on financial restructuring, bankruptcy, general commercial litigation and distressed real estate foreclosures. She represents debtors, creditors, trustees and committees in bankruptcy proceedings, and is experienced in Chapter 11 reorganizations and Chapter 7 liquidations.

Yasamin is also experienced in prosecuting foreclosure actions for a wide variety of commercial properties, including hotels and shopping centers. She has successfully petitioned for the appointment of receivers and prosecuted breaches of guaranties. Her recent presentations have included: "Out of Court Workouts in the COVID Era," an American Bar Association Business Law Section CARES/COVID-19 webinar, August 10, 2020.

Since 2021, Yasamin has been recognized annually in "The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch" publication in the areas of Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law.

Yasamin maintains an active pro bono practice, and in 2020 was honored by The Chicago Bar Foundation with The Maurice Weigle Exceptional Young Lawyer Award for her demonstrated commitment to pro bono work and community service. In connection with the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic she regularly represents individuals seeking orders of protection. She volunteers as a guardian ad litem in minor child guardianship matters before the Cook County Probate Division, and has helped obtain temporary protection under DACA for young immigrants. In addition, she is actively involved as a Member of the Pro Bono Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Yasamin joined Goldberg Kohn in June 2020 and is a member of the firm's Administrative, Pro Bono and Associate Business Development committees. Prior to joining the firm, she was an Associate in the Chicago office of an international law firm.
