Vanessa A. Bachtell

Overview

Vanessa Bachtell is a Principal in the firm's Corporate Practice Group. She represents buyers, sellers and other participants in acquisitions, dispositions and other commercial transactions. She regularly assists lenders, institutional and other investors in structuring and negotiating equity investments.

Vanessa also counsels a variety of entities and individuals on a diverse array of business issues and objectives, whether in response to discrete transactions or with respect to day-to-day legal counseling needs. She advises and assists clients on matters involving start-ups, entity formation and organization, compliance issues and governance, and reviews, negotiates and drafts a broad spectrum of corporate contracts and agreements.

Vanessa joined Goldberg Kohn in June 1999. She is co-Chair of the firm's Pro Bono Committee, is a member of the Diversity and Recruiting committees, and serves on the Women's Task Force.

Vanessa has served as a coach for Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law students who have competed in LawMeets® competitions, including the national champions of the 2020 M&A Boot Camp and three winning teams at the 2018 Transactional Competition. She has also volunteered with the CBA's Edward J. Lewis II Lawyers In the Classroom program and for Women Everywhere's Community Service program.
