
Yasamin Kaye is an associate in the firm's Bankruptcy & Creditors' Rights Group concentrating on financial restructuring, bankruptcy, general commercial litigation, and distressed real estate foreclosures. She represents debtors, creditors, trustees, and committees in bankruptcy proceedings and has experience in Chapter 11 reorganizations and Chapter 7 liquidations.
Yasamin also has experience prosecuting foreclosure actions for a wide variety of commercial properties, including hotels and shopping centers. She has successfully petitioned for the appointment of receivers and prosecuted breaches of guaranties.
Yasamin maintains an active pro bono practice, regularly representing individuals seeking orders of protection in connection with the Domestic Violence Legal Clinic, volunteering as a guardian ad litem in minor child guardianship matters before the Cook County Probate Division, and obtaining temporary protection under DACA for young immigrants. Yasamin was recently appointed to the pro bono committee for the Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
