Goldberg Kohn is pleased to announce that Adam Laser has been named Chair of the firm's Real Estate Group. Mr. Laser has been at Goldberg Kohn for more than 20 years and has been instrumental in the growth of the Real Estate Group and the Firm at large. He succeeds Gary Ruben who has served as Chair for the past 10 years.

"Having had the great fortune of working with Adam for 20 years, I will simply say that on a daily basis he exemplifies both the professional and personal qualities that make him an excellent choice to lead our group," said Ruben. 

Mr. Laser has extensive experience in real estate finance, with a particular focus on the structuring, origination, negotiation, and workout of commercial mortgage loans. His experience includes permanent, bridge and construction mortgage lending; mortgage origination for commercial mortgage-backed securitization programs, mezzanine financing, syndications, ground lease financing, workouts and restructurings. 

His practice focuses on the representation of financial institutions and other providers of debt and equity capital with respect to a broad range of real estate asset classes throughout the United States, with a strong expertise in hotels and senior housing. In addition, Mr. Laser regularly advises clients with regard to the acquisition, disposition, and leasing of real estate throughout the United States.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Laser worked on Capitol Hill and directed the Illinois and Indiana grass roots operations for the Chicago office of a Washington, D.C. based lobbying group. Mr. Laser is admitted to practice in Illinois. He received his law degree in 1997 from Northwestern University and his B.A. in political science in 1991 from Northwestern University.
