On November 13, 2014, Goldberg Kohn's Labor & Employment Group will present the workshop, "Regaining Control of Employee Leave."
In addition to Goldberg Kohn attorneys Jon Klinghoffer, David Morrison and Michael Sullivan, the presenters will include human resources experts and in-house employment lawyers who deal with these issues every day.
During the workshop, the presenters will address the FMLA, ADA, ADAA, Worker's Compensation, STD and LTD, and will specifically discuss:
- Best practices in navigating the overlapping state and federal laws related to employee leave
- "Market" leave offerings, practices and policies
- Common issues, such as challenging intermittent leave and requests for additional ADA leave following expiration of FMLA leave
- Tips for aggressive, consistent management of leave, including prevention of employee abuses
The "Regaining Control of Employee Leave" workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the Union League Club (65 West Jackson). A continental breakfast will be provided.
CLE credit is available and the workshop will be submitted to the HR Certification Institute for review.
