
Kevan W. Ventura is a Principal in the firm's Real Estate Group. He represents financial institutions in connection with negotiating, documenting and syndicating complex real estate loans. He has extensive lender-side experience with respect to construction loans and bridge loans secured by a variety of collateral, with deal sizes typically ranging from $5 million to $100 million. He also regularly represents lenders in connection with loan workouts and restructurings.
In addition, Mr. Ventura is experienced in handling a broad range of non-real estate commercial finance transactions with the firm's Commercial Finance Group, including first and second lien credit facilities, asset-based loans, acquisition and working capital financings, refinancings, and other complex financial transactions
Representative Matters
Mr. Ventura's representative matters include the following:
- Represented administrative agent in connection with a $72 million construction loan for an apartment building in North Carolina.
- Represented administrative agent in connection with a $109 million loan to refinance a portfolio of self-storage properties in Georgia, Colorado and South Carolina.
- Represented national lender in connection with numerous construction loans ranging from $9 million to $80 million to finance the construction of senior housing facilities throughout the United States.
- Represented administrative agent in connection with a $85 million construction loan for a multi-phase senior housing project in Arizona.
- Represented numerous institutional lenders in connection with the workout and restructuring of various first mortgage and mezzanine loans secured by office, hospitality, retail, apartment, senior housing and industrial properties.
- Represented landlords and tenants in numerous leasing and subleasing transactions
Mr. Ventura has been recognized in the 2024 and 2023 editions of "The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch" publication in the area of Real Estate Law. In 2022 and 2023, he was selected as a Rising Star in Real Estate Law by Illinois Super Lawyers.
He joined Goldberg Kohn in June 2015 and serves as a member of the firm's Technology Committee.
Mr. Ventura earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School, cum laude, in 2012, and a bachelor of science in accounting from Wayne State University, cum laude.
He is an Eagle Scout.
