Overview

Jenna A. Ward is a Principal in the firm's Commercial Finance Group. She represents commercial lending institutions in structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing financing transactions, including asset-based secured loans, cash flow loans, first and second lien credit facilities, leveraged buyouts and debtor-in-possession financings across a broad array of industries. 

Among her accolades, in April 2022 Jenna was honored with the Secured Finance Network's Women in Secured Finance Award, which recognizes women who have had a significant impact on the industry’s future. Since 2021, she has been recognized annually in "The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch" publication in the area of Banking and Finance Law. In addition, Leading Lawyers has recognized her as an Emerging Lawyer in Banking & Financial Institutions Law since 2021. 

Jenna joined Goldberg Kohn in August 2015 and is Vice-Chair of the firm's Administrative Committee. Prior to joining the firm, she was an attorney at Kirkland & Ellis LLP where she was a member of the global restructuring and insolvency practice and represented debtors and creditors in complex restructuring matters, including Chapter 11 cases, cross-border insolvency matters and out-of-court restructurings. 

Experience

  • Represented the Administrative Agent in a $115 million senior secured credit facility to provide financing for the acquisition of a national restaurant chain. 
  • Represented the Administrative Agent in a $260 million senior secured credit facility to provide financing to a national retail chain. 
  • Represented the Administrative Agent in a split-lien $350 million asset-based lending facility to a fracking company in the energy sector.
